Front End Strength & Protection
The first move was saying goodbye to the factory front end. In its place now sits an Offroad Animal Predator bar, designed to take hits, shrug off punishment, and look a million dollars doing it.
Inside that bar is serious insurance. A Bushranger 12,000lb winch is ready to get Stephen out of trouble should the tracks turn sour or a remote campsite demand self-recovery.
For visibility, we settled on proven performers. Up front is a Lightforce light bar paired with Lightforce Beast driving lights. For long highway miles after dark, that combo is clear, crisp and dependable.
Inside: Touring Essentials Done Right
Inside the cab, the focus was convenience and control. A GME UHF keeps communication sorted, while REDARC Tow-Pro Link braking ensures smooth, predictable van control while towing.
Behind the scenes, Safety Dave cameras deliver extra confidence when reversing, maneuvering and towing.
Rear Touring Setup: Power, Storage & Self-Sufficiency
This is where the build really comes to life.
A full RV Storage Solutions drawer system now handles organisation and touring practicality. Every item has a home and access is effortless.
Behind the scenes sits a complete custom 12V system, built in-house for long-term off-grid travel:
- Custom Lithium 200Ah battery
- REDARC Alpha 50 BCDC charging
This setup gives Stephen serious autonomy, whether he is running accessories, lights, fridges or electronics on multi-day stops.
Air control was also a priority. An ARB twin onboard compressor now runs the airbags and tyre inflation gear, making load control and pressure tuning fast and hassle-free.
Exterior Add-Ons & Touring Practicality
To polish it off, the GR Sport received:
- Colour-coded flares for a factory-plus finish
- Offroad Animal roof rack for extra cargo and gear management
Underneath it all is a build designed to be used. This is a working, breathing touring wagon built for the real world.
The Result
Stephen now has a seriously capable 300 Series GR Sport.
Built to tow safely and confidently, and just as enjoyable to drive when the caravan is left at camp and it is time to explore the tracks.
This GR has the power, storage, confidence and tech needed for big drives, remote regions and long memories.
