What the Customer Wanted
This customer came to our Adrenalin Pakenham – Ironman Platinum Store with a clear goal:
a true dual-purpose setup that could handle daily work duties, then head straight off-grid
into remote touring without compromise.

- Off-grid touring: dependable power for remote and unforgiving destinations

- Go-anytime ready: capable of hitting the Victorian High Country at a moment’s notice
Off-grid capability was non-negotiable, with plans to explore destinations like the Simpson Desert,
the Flinders Ranges, and Cape York. This build needed to deliver confidence on tough terrain while
staying practical for everyday use.
What We Did
We transformed this Isuzu D-Max into a no-compromise all-rounder: tough up front, dialled underneath, and thoughtfully laid out for touring convenience.

Suspension & GVM Upgrade
- Ironman suspension upgrade rated to a constant 300kg load
- GVM upgrade
The result is improved strength, stability, and confidence under load on rough terrain —
whether it’s tools during the week or touring gear on the weekend.
12-Volt Off-Grid Power System
The heart of this build is the 12-volt system. We installed a hidden lithium battery setup,
paired with a REDARC inverter and solar panel/blanket input for true off-grid capability.

The Result
A D-Max that works hard during the week and tours even harder on the weekend. With power,
storage, and reliability dialled in, this setup is ready for adventures from the Victorian High
Country to the Red Centre, the Simpson Desert, the Flinders Ranges, and Cape York.
