How did you get into 4WDing/Camping?
I rented a 4WD Troop Carrier on a holiday and went to Rainbow Beach on Fraser Island in 1998. I was hooked from there!

What was your first 4WD and what do you drive now?
My first 4WD was a 1997 Jeep Wrangler. I now drive a LandCruiser 79 Series for touring and have a Jeep Wrangler for the more technical off-roading.

Favourite place to go 4WDing/Camping
Anywhere in Australia! But if I had to pick it would be either the remoteness, scenery and history of central Australia, or Cape York for similar but warmer reasons.

Top tip for going out 4WDing?
We always tell our tag along tour customers to prepare for anything but expect the unexpected.

Any other interests?
All of my interests involve getting outdoors from adventure bike riding, taking out my Canam Maverick SXS for some fun, hiking, photography, and exploring Australia’s history out on the tracks.

My family and I would always go away in the school holidays camping and 4wd with our friends.

Favourite place to go 4WDing/Camping
My favourite place in NSW would have to be the Hill End and Sofala area, the tracks are always a lot of fun and I love the history and gold mining stories. My all time favourite is 4wdig and camping is anywhere in Tasmania.

Be prepared. We do a lot of remote 4wding and we always make sure we have enough fuel, food and water.

I ride an Adventrue Bike – a BMW GS310 and I also have a 1989 Honda CT110 “Postie” bike which is a bit of fun to slowly get around on.

My family have a massive passion for 4WDing and camping, have always been inspired by my dad 4WDing which led to me getting my own.

What was your first 4WD and what do you drive now?
My first and current 4WD which I have owned for 3 years, is a 2009 Nissan GU Patrol CRD 3L which I bought stock. Currently has 3″ and 33’s, TJM bull bar, side rails and rock sliders, just to name a few mods. Have just done a ECU Remap as well.

What would be your dream 4WD if you had no spending limit?
My dream 4WD would have to be a GU Patrol with 6BT Cummins Motor and all the fruit!

Favourite place to go 4WDing/camping?
My favourite place to go camping and 4WDing is 100% Cape York, it is such an amazing experience. Another favourite place of mine a bit more local is the Watagans State Forest – Awesome tracks –  hard and easy(ish) and the scenery is just amazing!

Top tip for going out 4WDing?
Always be prepared! Know your routes, and it always helps to have at least one other person with you. A set of Maxtrax and a TJM winch will get you out of trouble!

Big hobby of mine is dirt bikes! If i’m not at work or 4WDing, you’ll probably find me on a dirt bike in the bush!

How did you get into 4WDing/Camping?
I have been into off-roading for 35 years everything from social day drives right through to month long over land trips and a few years of competition driving. I guess it was just a natural progression for me as our family was always into camping and outdoors. To me the 4WD is my way to get to those special places a normal car just cant get to.

What was your first 4WD and what do you drive now?
I’ve had quite a few different 4WDs over my time. My first at 18 was a 1973 Toyota FJ 40 LandCruiser and currently I drive a 2016 Jeep Wrangler.

Favourite place to go 4WDing/camping?
I have to say one of my favourite places to camp is the Victorian High Country the amount of diversity in the terrain that is packed into that area is amazing theres something for everyone from stock to highly modified and the views are some of the best anywhere.

Top tip for going out 4WDing?
My top tip is be as prepared as you can. Make sure your vehicle is prepped and maintained. Do your home work and carry the appropriate gear for the trip.

Any other interests?
A few of my other interests are basically any type of motorsport have been involved in most types from waterski racing and boats to rally cars.I have an interest in RC cars and boats, kayaking fishing and generally anything that doesn’t involve staying home. I’m at my happiest after a days off-roading sitting around a campfire knowing ill be back at again the next day.
