Description

Take on one of Australia’s most iconic outback journeys and cross the legendary Simpson Desert from west to east on this fully guided 4WD tag-along adventure. This is more than a desert crossing, it’s a deep dive into the heart of the red centre, where vast horizons, towering sand dunes and ancient landscapes stretch endlessly in every direction.

Your journey begins in the rugged outback, travelling through historic regions like the Flinders Ranges and along the iconic Oodnadatta Track, rich with stories of explorers, railways and remote outposts. From here, the adventure truly shifts gears as you head into the desert itself, where days are spent weaving across thousands of parallel sand dunes and nights are spent camped beneath unbelievably clear, star-filled skies.

A highlight for many is soaking in the natural warmth of Dalhousie Hot Springs, a surreal oasis in the middle of the desert, before continuing deeper into the Simpson. With experienced guides leading the way, you’ll tackle dune after dune, learning the techniques required for soft sand driving while enjoying the camaraderie that comes from travelling in convoy through truly remote country.

The crossing culminates in an unforgettable finale as you roll into Birdsville, with the option to take on the famous Big Red for those keen to test their skills. Celebrate the achievement with a well-earned meal and cold drink at the legendary Birdsville Hotel, knowing you’ve just completed one of Australia’s great 4WD bucket-list adventures.

This tour is carefully paced to balance adventure with enjoyment, giving you time to soak up the scenery, the silence, and the sense of accomplishment that only the Simpson Desert can deliver. 🌅🍻
