❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need previous 4WD experience?

Basic 4WD experience is recommended, but you don’t need to be an expert. This is a guided tag-along tour and we
talk you through technical sections, provide spotting where needed and offer tips over the radio. If you’re
comfortable driving your 4WD on dirt roads and mild tracks, we can help you build confidence from there.

Is this tour suitable for families and kids?

Yes! Families are welcome and kids often love the adventure, camping and creek stops. Keep in mind that there
are long driving days and remote locations, so children should be comfortable with travel and camping. We aim to be in camp by 3pm – 4pm each evening.

Can I bring my dog or pets?

Due to National Park and State Forest regulations, pets are not permitted on this tour.

How much fuel do I need?

As a general guide, we recommend carrying a full tank plus additional capacity if your vehicle has a
small standard tank. The exact amount depends on your vehicle and modifications, but plan for several hundred
kilometres of low-range, steep and slow driving which can increase fuel use. Full fuel requirements will be
provided in your pre-departure information.

What about toilets and showers?

Some campsites may have basic drop toilets, but in many remote locations there are no facilities. We follow
Leave No Trace principles and will brief you on how to manage waste responsibly. Showers are usually limited to
camp shower setups (BYO) or occasional caravan park/pub stays if included in the itinerary.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Safety is our priority. In the event of severe weather, track closures or unsafe conditions, we may adjust the
route, change camp locations or rearrange the itinerary. We always aim to still deliver the best possible
High Country experience while keeping everyone safe.

How many vehicles are on the tour?

Group sizes are kept small to maintain safety, fun and flexibility. Exact numbers vary by departure, but we
generally limit the number of guest vehicles to ensure quality guiding and easier convoy management.

Is recovery gear included?

The lead vehicle carries comprehensive recovery equipment, but each guest vehicle must still bring basic gear
such as a snatch strap and rated shackles. We’ll provide a detailed gear list after booking so you know exactly
what to pack.

Do you provide food?

This is a self-catered tour with the exception of the first and last night. You’ll need to bring your own food, snacks and drinks for
the duration of the trip. At times we may visit local pubs or bakeries for lunches or dinners where available —
these are at your own cost.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our standard tour terms & conditions apply for payments, cancellations and credits. Please refer to our
booking policy on the website or contact us directly for full details before confirming your place.
